Michael Lewis started Mecklenburg Inspections in 2000. He was the one man show, taking appointments, completing all the office tasks, and doing inspections. His hard work quickly paid off and the business grew to the point his wife, Anne, joined the blooming family business. In 2007 Belinda Cobb joined the team helping to process the growing number of clients and agents.

As the years passed additional inspectors have been hired to meet the need. Additional services such as certified professional radon measurement, and termite inspection were added to provide clients with more options. Michael gave talks, was frequently interviewed on the news, and mentored many young home inspectors (including myself). As an avid believer in going beyond, he stressed the importance of treating each inspection as if it was the most important. He held his inspectors to the same standard; all inspectors are required to complete yearly continuing education hours, and he stressed the importance of doing more than what was required.

Michael and Anne worked hard to grow the business into what it is today. In 2021 Michael came to me and asked if I would be interested in taking over Mecklenburg Inspections. It was an incredible honor. My wife, Jennifer, and I value the hard work that Michael and Anne put into the business, and we will continue to hold the values and vision that made Mecklenburg Inspections so great. We pray for the best for Michael and Anne Lewis and will be eternally grateful to serve our community through continuing the legacy of this wonderful business.
